Our MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) programme provides the basic training requirements towards employment as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP). This is a dual-accredited programme, so upon graduation students can apply for registration with the British Psychological Society or British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapies.

The MSc Applied Psychology in Fashion is the first and only postgraduate course in the world that provides the critical insight into human behaviour needed to understand and improve the human aspects of the fashion business. It emphasises the application of psychology to positively enhance the industry’s impact on its workforce, consumers and the environment.

The modules will focus on Applied Psychology; using knowledge of psychology to understand real-world problems and create changes in areas such as education, the workplace, mental health and psychological well-being, counselling, physical health and illness, behaviour change, forensic and legal settings, sport and exercise, and social problems such as prejudice and discrimination.

Our Psychology PhD students are based within the School of Applied Social Science (SASS) at the University of Brighton’s Falmer campus. They join a School with a significant breadth and depth of Psychology provision and a stimulating programme of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Lecturer in Psychology and Programme leader of the MSc Applied Psychology (Addictions) Lynne gained her PhD in behavioural neuropsychopharmacology from the University of Reading. Her research interests include: Dopamine systems, movement disorders, schizophrenia, depression, the reward system, substance misuse and aggression. Dr Simon Cassidy.

PhD: A masters degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant discipline related to applied psychology plus, an upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant discipline. A masters degree either in psychology or with an element of psychology is highly advantageous.
